BECOME A DOCENT
All docents who volunteer for two 3-hour shifts will receive one free house tour ticket!
Docents are volunteers during the days of the Tour that help the Tour flow smoothly. Docents greet Tour-goers and are stationed throughout the home to share details about the space and answer any questions guests may have. Docenting is a fun and social way to make a direct impact on the Tour.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER DECORATOR
Volunteer Decorator shifts take place during the week prior to the tour. Set-up for the 2025 Tour will start the week of December 1st.
Volunteer Decorators assist the interior designer and design team in decorating and setting up each house the week leading up to the Tour. Activities include: wrapping presents, decorating Christmas trees, placing furniture, setting the dining table, and other activities that bring the interior designer’s vision to life.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a newcomer yourself, a long time resident looking to be a part of a New Canaan institution, a teenager in need of philanthropy hours or simply a Christmas enthusiast looking to spread holiday cheer. It Takes A Village! - Find your role
The Holiday House Tour is run by a team of volunteers who come together every two years to raise funds for well-deserving local grantees. We have various volunteer opportunities available, ranging from leadership positions to day-of volunteers. Depending on your time constraints and areas of expertise, we can help you find a role that fits with your schedule.
